To say I needed a vacation was a HUGE understatement. I don't know who I ticked off but life has been a bit much lately. A week on the beach could not have come at a better time. Especially, because Becky and Sunny came with me. Palm Beach, Florida was perfect in the amount of sun, clouds, and warmness. I did miss some of the fall color changes but I was able to get some color as well. We basically did nothing all week long. There was eating, shopping, movie watching, game playing, laughing, and just laying at the pool. The beach was gorgeous and the pool felt great. I came home a few shades darker and a bit more relaxed. We decided it needed to be a regular event.

RRR 2012
A few months back I had another brillant idea! Lets run 188 miles in 2 days! So I signed up for the Red Rock Relay. The best part was roping 11 of my co-workers to do it with me! After a few hiccups in getting the final team together, we all crammed into cars and drove down to Washington, Utah to crash for the night. Herlevi let us invade his place so we could have a real bed to sleep in. Oh that was the best idea ever. We were divided into 2 vans, 6 people each, crammed into cars, sleep deprived and entertained to say the least. The first van started us off at 0620 with John--who explained his first adventure as the following:
To recap: immediately sprained ankel, worry leads to stomach ache that leads to dropping a deuce in the burrow pit in the dark after letting everyone pass me. Plus post dump I no longer had my ear warming headband as it was used for a more practical and urgent purpose. I then got to ride 20minutes on a freezing cold ski lift ride with no safety bar and an ankle that is getting swollen and stiff. At this point I am barely running and getting passed by everyone on a single track trail and it is still dark. But, it was still fun.
Haha Yeah, thats how it all began. The first few legs were ran in the rain and cloudy morning. I loved my first run. The hill right off the bat was abusive but I love the view running down. I'm definitely a mountain girl! I passed on the wrist slap and watch cheryl take off. We were having a blast in the crazy car. Pictures, food, sleep deprivation, cheering, skipping rocks, drinking fluids, dancing to music, and water assistants. What more can a girl ask for?!
After we met up with the second van at the exchange, I've never been more excited to see Cedar City. We all piled back into the car and headed back to Washington for sleep and showers. Amazing how much a shower can help you feel better. Unfortunately, no time to sleep. Our next phase was the overnight runs. Covered in glow-sticks, music blasting, freezing cold to the perfect temp. My 7 miles went by so fast! Everyone else ran so well! Our best legs ever! Must be the glowing power!! The end came fast and we went back and crashed after catching up with the other van. 3 hours later we were all up and at it again.
The last legs were pure hell. Hot, exhausted, long, and drained could only begin to describe our last section. We had an awesome cheer section the whole way. Other vans would stop by and give us fluids, we would take turns filling water bottles, dumping the water on the runner, and screaming out the windows. We all finished! By some miracle my last leg brought the finish line into view. My van got out and ran the last few feet--I was about ready to sit on the ground and quit at this point. Sunny and I sprinted into the finish line! Even dead I'm still competitive. We ran across the line and collapsed on the grass! The whole team was there and were so excited to be done! I could not have asked for a better team to run with. We are already planning next years adventures. Now I just have to convince my body that walking isn't a bad thing and we should do this again!
