Soaring Over Colorado

I am constantly amazed at how gorgeous Utah is. Flying around in a helicopter gives you a different perspective on the world. I've been flying nights and have only seen the world in green lately. The NVG's make the world look green and alien-like.

My crew is awesome and we get some great pictures flying around. The world really is amazing up in the air. Helps keep a few things in perspective. I got to land on the freeway for the first time! It was so cool! We circled around and saw all the flashing lights. I stood rotor guard and was amazed at how people think its ok to approach a spinning helicopter. The tail blade is invincible when its running. I will forever be amazed at the lack of common sense in this world. I love my job.

The Art of Registry

I love date nights with Shaun! Life is pretty crazy lately so I love when we can just get away, just the two of us. On my last week off we hit up Bed Bath & Beyond and Macy's to register for our gifts. Shaun and I armed ourselves with a scanner gun and went to town. I loved walking around picking out the stuff we will build our future home with.  We even found a mattress we wanted--turns out it was on clearance and won't let it register. Stupid Clearance. Bed Bath & Beyond even let us stay past closing to finish up our list. Oh the fun kitchen stuff. Who knew I would one day be thrilled about a can opener and fancy glasses.

Spring is just around the corner! Can I tell you how much I love having sunshine?! Flip flops are coming out and Sunday walks can resume. Another good thing? Great Sunday drives. Shaun's dad has this awesome old fashioned car that i got to ride it. We even did figure eights in the church parking lot. Turns out that neither Rich or I can turn down a dare.  Can't wait to see if this thing can break 30mph next time!

If you hadn't noticed Shaun and I love to take drives together.  The mountains are still gorgeous covered in snow and worth a few trips through the canyon. We drove through to Park City at sunset and enjoyed the view.  I can't wait for more drives. Just picture these in the fall. Full of color! I love my one on one time with Shaun. He makes me laugh and simply keeps my out of control brain calm.

Jack + Enzo = Best buddies

Jack still cracks me up. He sleeps in the most odd positions that are often associated with my butt. I've definitely noticed he misses Enzo when we are down in Price. Enzo and Jack do a great job of wearing each other out and they have even started cuddling with each other. Though I do feel the need occasionally to make sure Jack can breath. Jack shows his true character as the annoying little brother when Enzo is around. Enzo is so adorable and the sweetest dog alive. He tries to cuddle with me like Jack does but usually ends up knocking the breath out of me. Slowly but surely I will win him over and be the favorite. Now I just need to make sure Shaun doesn't put him in the dryer--yeah it has been suggested a few times ;)

Shaun really is the sweetest. After coming home from a week away He has roses on the table for me. Oh I do love this guy.

Moving On

2014 seems to be starting off with a bang of changes. I'm engaged and Mark accepted a job in Denver. My siblings like to take my nieces and nephews away from me. I'm so excited for Mark and Heather though. I know its something they've wanted for a while.

I thought it was a super crazy idea initially when they moved in. Carrie was just a little crazy thing and living with my married brother was a bit of a different concept. But helping them load up the car felt just as crazy. They've been with me for about 18 months and its crazy to think they won't be there anymore. I've loved having them around to talk, play games with, and for Carrie who always made me laugh.

Carrie and Jack became fast friends. The little booger even learned Jack's name before mine. She quickly became my buddy and knew how to melt my heart. I will miss her little face invading my room everyday. I will miss talking with Heather. I will miss Mark's great plans and games.  Let's just say as they drove away I did shed a few tears.  I will miss them.  I know we are on to even greater adventures and I can't wait for them to really begin. Plus now I have even more excuses to travel and spend time with them.
