Okay why do people who don't really work think they can make the best decisions for the Department. I don't think they really do. The ED isn't like the rest of the departments in the hospital. We function and are designed differently--for a reason. Because we are the ER we get everything everyone doesn't want to deal with. As a result we aren't the big money makers of the hospital and get treated as such. I understand the economy is down and people are struggling but come on! We are severely understaffed right now and we have only began to see trauma season. I mean they even cut the Oreos from us. Rude--I mean I use oreos as a bribe for my kiddos. I laugh because they wonder why our patient satisfaction scores are down and the number of people are leaving. hmmmm think hard about that one!!
I would love one day for management to come down and work a night shift being 3 nurses and 2 techs short and see how much fun that is. This summer is going to be miserable. Not excited for the staff burn out, onery doctors, or frustrated patients.
