I LOVE weekend trips. Less expensive and a lot of fun. I have lived in Utah my whole life and never been to Moab. Appalling to some people we corrected that. Jace and I left after his class and blasted music the whole trip down. The adventure truly began when we couldn't get a hold of Levi or Crystal when we arrived at the camp site. In the dark I managed to smack my toe and make it bleed. One of these trips I will manage to not injure myself.
I was also reminded this trip--I do not sleep well while camping nor am I a morning person. Its bad when you travel with morning people. Friday was the endless but amazing hike. We went to Canyonland National Park and hiked all day. I love hiking. I'm out of shape but I love to pretend that I am while hiking. Up and down and through the canyon we went. Those evils rocks were not meant for short people to climb them. I laughed when some of them came above my waist as I climbed up them. By the end we were just excited to be done. Through the middle it was green and cool which surprised me from all the orange rock around it. The chance to cool off was needed. After downing an amazing amount of water, we climbed into the car and headed for the hot tub. Oh that was amazing. Hot water washing all the soreness and pain away.
The next morning after amazing french toast--and a nap for the non-morning person--we headed into town. Levi and Crystal bought a dinosaur costume for their dog. Poor animal. Jace and I headed to Arches National Park. We hiked to Delicate Arch and biked up to Devils Garden. I like biking. Going 30mph down the road is also a lot of fun. Sore and tired we drove home with a late night run to Sonic. Not a bad weekend at all.
