Period

WARNING: THIS POST MAY CONTAIN TMI!

A few years ago my periods started to become more intense. Cramps that would knock me off my feet for a day or two. Then the pain started a week before my period. I took Ibuprofen  went to the doctor, and did everything I was told. The result? Ibuprofen now makes me incredibly nauseous and gives me a different kind of cramps. Judging by symptoms and talking with some women I know I could have Endometriosis. However, the only true way to diagnose this is through surgery--not really excited about that option. With birth control and ibuprofen not options I've been doing research on other treatments. Since I hope to have children one day--maybe I need to keep those organs in me just a bit longer.

My other option-diet control. The only problem--giving up all the foods I love.

I will not eat grains, dairy, refined products, nonorganic options, and any form of sugar. Yeah thats basically my entire diet right now. So what do I left to work with?

Organic fruits & veggies, Organic meats, eggs, rice, organic honey, and nuts. Yeah that won't be a big change at all. Basically a strict PALEO diet.

Good news--I've noticed a some good results with digestion, bloating, etc. Bad news--I miss chocolate. Good news--I'm enjoying cooking again. Bad news--this last period was pure hell so I hope this isn't an indicator for future results. Though its suppose to take a few months to work and I may or may not have cheated a lot. So wish me luck. This will be hard for this sugar junkie to do.  I will commit to six months. If not, surgery here I come!! Wish me luck.

Carrie and Jack FREQUENTLY help me eat my breakfast in the morning these days.
