The Start of My New Beginning

Well lets just say 2014 certainly did not let me ease back into life. The day after New Year's Shaun and I went to the mall and both found rings. That's right peeps I found the guy I want to spend the rest of my life and beyond with. Shaun use to work at Morgan Jewelers so this guy knows his rings. He found exactly what I wanted with a design that makes me so happy. I could just sit there and stare it all day. Apparently I have freakishly small fingers, they have to make and order the ring in a size 4. But we both found rings we love. I seriously can't believe I am getting married!! The decision wasn't difficult at all when deciding to marry Shaun. He is my best friend. My better half. 

Because of my obsessive need to plan ahead and over plan, I decided to go dress shopping with my sisters and my mom before we all separated for work and school. Lets face it, May will come up unbelievably fast. I've always wanted this bonding experience ever since I was a teenager. Granted Shaun and I had looked at dresses a few days before so I already kinda knew what I wanted. I met up with my sisters at Sweetheart Bridal and tried on a bunch of different dresses. Kristi and Kalli immediately started going through the racks finding dress after dress for me to try on. 

I can tell you that wedding dresses are heavy! There are also way to may options to choose from. However, I knew I didn't want a cupcake dress at least so we did avoid those ones. But we did eliminate white and went for ivory. My mom helped me in and out of the dresses which was a blast. To be honest I odn't think I could have done it on my own. I did get really good at jumping up and down to pull the dresses up though. One day they will make dresses for short people. The prices were where I wanted them to be and the staff were extremely helpful. After trying on many dresses I had it narrowed down to three. After trying them all back on again I walked out in THE dress and could just tell again it was the favorite. I battled between two of them but could tell by my mom's smile, which one it should be.  Its been said that you should feel like a princess in your dress. I did!! Now I just have to find heels to match. Oh I love excuses to buy new shoes.
