It Keeps On Coming

I guess I didn't realize how long of a process moving really is. I have officially been in my house for 2 weeks and I'm still getting used to it. I live by myself right now but do have roommates moving in soon. My to do list in my notebook seems to get longer everyday. Between what I need to do and what I want to do to this place. I have to laugh though. Every time I go to do something I realize I don't have the thing needed to complete it. Something as simple as a tape measure to get the sizes of my African paintings to a saucepan--yeah I have to come up with meals I can do in the microwave. Piece by piece it seems to be coming together though. My plan is to tackle a room every month. Then paint and get new carpet. My mom has to remind me constantly to be patient. I make myself avoid craft stores to stop the temptation. Fall is in the air and I want to decorate for it.

Personally I think Fall is the best season. October is one of the best months of the year. Hikes in the mountains to see the leaves change. Sweaters, jackets, fuzzy sockets, Halloween, all the good stuff comes out.

I'm settling into my new routine. I've learned to keep my fridge stocked for my brothers. My poor mom gets about 50 phone calls from me a day asking about this or that. I've learned that i chose the right profession because I stink at construction type things. My family has been amazing in their constant help. Between moving, putting furniture together, getting my a peephole, hanging my pictures, giving first time home advice, and helping me with things I don't understand. Its made me realize how much I can't do on my own--no matter how much I want to prove that I can. Not going to lie at times it bites to do it all on my own. I can't wait to have my dad help get my hot water back. I'm weak and cant turn the stupid knob. The cold showers are brutal--this morning I came out with blue toes and lips. Took me 20minutes to warm up wrapped in blankets.

On a fun note. Weston has given me a name. My amazing sister brought him over to play with me today and he said my name. According to Weston I am "osa." Amber says he also calls soda this--I'm not sure quite how to take it. Today he ran around my house screaming and fell in love with my bed. My favorite phrase, "Osa!! Osa!! go honk chew!" "okay" is now my new favorite word. He says it like he's being forced to do a task or something he wants. Oh how I love the little people in my life! My friends and family are great about letting me entertain their kids.

I've put a lot of Blood and Sweat into my House
