U2 is just amazing. What's even better than U2? Seeing their 360 Tour for free with AMAZING seats. What's even better than that you say? Seeing the Concert with one of my best friends!! Angie and I tackled SLC and its crazy traffic to see Bono live!
I drove up and met Angie in the Smith's Parking Lot to hop on trax. Wow, that was an experience. It was like a horror movie waiting to happen if the train ever derailed. SOOOOOOO many people were packed into those cars. We were packed so tightly that when the train moved and stop we hardly moved. Luckily people had a great sense of humor about it.
Arriving in the chaos was even better. At security they took my water-bottle--yeah I'm still upset over it. But we eventually walked around and found our seats, marveling over HOW MASSIVE the stage was. Bono really does like to make an impression.
The Fray opened. I forgot how much I like their music. I felt bad for the lead singer as he RAN around the whole stage. My favorite quote came from him, "Bono is insane!!" After dancing around to their songs we waited. . . . . . . waited. . . . . . . . waited. . . . . . . waited. . . . . . .. waited until Bono and the rest of the band exploded on stage.
Exploded is the most accurate word for how LOUD the music was. Angie and I couldn't even hear each other while they played. Between the light show, the dancing, screaming, and yelling, I lost my voice and hearing by the end of the night. I'm sure I looked ridiculous dancing around, but I really didn't care. I did not want it to end though. I haven't had that kind of fun in a LONG time.
We opted to walk the 7 blocks back to the cars. Hahaha I am so glad we did. I just laughed over and over at how packed those people were in the cars. Plus the fresh summer night made it perfect.
