Today my not so little brother got married! Mark was sealed to Heather Gilliland in the Mesa Arizona Temple on May 20,2011 at 1330. I'm so excited to have another sister in the family! Heather is perfect for Mark. I don't know how he got so lucky! Heather is so sweet, kind, and the perfect balance for Mark.
I hopped in the car and drove down with my sisters and parents to Tempe Arizona for the big even. Our second sisters, Karlie, Kyra, and Jessica with Dan and Amy joined us for the party. Poor Mark, we offered to throw him a bachelor party since all his "bachelors" were out of the state. Instead we just threw our own bachelorette party and pretended he was there.
The Wedding day was busy and chaotic but amazing all at the same time. After some last minute errands, my mom and I ran back to frantically get ready. Kristi, Kalli, and I miraculously had all our hair and make-up done just in time to leave. We babysat the little kiddos during the sealing. Big cute fat babies asleep in my arms--oh so precious. Arizona is HOT! I enjoyed the change of pace from the snowy Utah weekend.
After a quick picture session we drove to Heather's house for much needed food and time with the family. The family laughed at the pictures in the slide show and ate fresh fruit, chicken wraps, mashed potatoes. The Open House quickly followed, where all the Elmer girls quickly downed the ice cream refreshments, while basking in the sun outside. By the end of the night we were ALL exhausted. I think that is the longest I have ever spent in a dress and heels. The bride and groom looked just as tired as the rest of us. After the crazy lovebirds took off, we all piled in our cars again anxious to find a bed. On the way home my sisters and I tried to get to use to saying Mark and his Wife! Yes, its still new for me!!
The rest of the weekend was spent playing with the girl cousins. Games, candy, movies, stores, and sleep. Plus planing for the greatly anticipated Hawaii trip with these girls!!
