Addiction

ADDICTION:

*the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming.

*Habitual psychological and physiological dependence on a substance or practice beyond one's voluntary control

*to devote or surrender (oneself) to something habitually or obsessively.

To those who are wondering--no I am not addicted to drugs. I have seen enough of that in my short ER career to last me a life time. TRUST ME. People are stupid. What I am referring to is much more lethal and just as expensive. I escape into other worlds. Lose track of countless hours. Interferes with my sleep. Follow unexplored ideas.

Addiction = Books

Ever since I graduated I've come to appreciate reading. Reading because I want to. Reading because its fun. Reading because I don't have to remember every word. Reading simply because I can.

When I bought my house I thought one bookshelf would last me a LONG time. Yeah I wish. My book of choice. YA adult fantasy. My curse. Trilogies. Why oh why must it take at least a year to come out with sequels?! Seriously. I follow numerous book blogs. Probably too many actually. My addiction has gotten to the point where I can no longer look at Amazon. I have a list of books and their release dates. In this year alone there are 10. I'm sorely tempted to skip summer just so the fall will arrive sooner. Here is my wish list for the rest of the year:

Beautiful Darkness (sequel Beautiful Creatures) Oct. 26, 2010

Torment (sequel Fallen) September 28 2010

The Scorch Trials (sequel Maze Runner) October 12, 2010

Golden Spiral (sequel Hourglass Door) May 10, 2010

Mockingjay (sequel Catching Fire) August 24, 2010

The Clockwork Angel August 31, 2010

Linger (sequel to Shiver) July 20, 2010

Exiled Queen (Sequel Demon King) September 28, 2010

Paranormalcy September 21, 2010

Crescendo (sequel to Hush Hush) November 16, 2010

I am branching out a little bit, but this genre continues to suck me in over and over and over and over again. Counting down the days. . . . . . .
